THREE BODY BARREL
Our San Oaks release showcases the innovative ‘Three Body Barrel’ concept — combining French oak for vanilla and marzipan, American oak for caramel and roasted nuts, and Chinese Mongolica oak for spice and umami.
A final rest in ex-bourbon casks ties the layers together into a whiskey that feels both familiar and entirely new.
MEET THE FOUNDERS
Hai Seas Distillery was co-founded by two lifelong theatre actors, entrepreneur Brian Wang and marketing veteran Daniel Speed, who shared a dream to create China’s first locally crafted award-winning whiskey and gin.
After meeting and collaborating together on an interactive burlesque theatre show in 2019, Brian and Daniel realized we also both had a passion for spirits, and sharing their life stories over a dram or two of whiskey.
Our Mission
Co-Founder and General Manager Brian Wang always believed that China should create its own homegrown premium spirits to make its countrymen proud.
In 2020, Daniel and Brian started on their ultimate goal of creating the best Chinese spirits in the world.
The result was Hai Seas Distillery, named after the adventurous nature of its founders, and their ambition to create outstanding spirits.
Today, Hai Seas is fast finding fans in China’s growing gin and whiskey community, and with international tasters, sommeliers and judges alike.
